ASI suspended for negligence

GURGAON: In a case of negligence, the city police commissioner has suspended an assistant sub-inspector (ASI).
According to sources, on Wednesday morning a Bolero Jeep was stolen from Model Town area by unknown thieves. But when the victim called Pataudi Road police post, the ASI on duty, Yakub Khan, didn’t act promptly.
For a call that was registered at 9am, Khan reached the spot at 11:30.When the victim filed a complaint of negligence against the ASI, the city police chief ordered suspension of the officer. DCP headquarters, Abhay Singh Rao confirmed the news of suspension. “Such irresponsible behavior by an on-duty officer is unacceptable, the department has taken a strong disciplinary action to send the right signal,” he said.
