4 Gurgaon men take Bentley for test drive, sell it & cheat Hyderabad bizman of Rs 50 lakh

Hyderabad: Banjara Hills police have registered a cheating case against senior executives of a Gurgaon-based luxury automobile firm, for allegedly defrauding Hyderabad-based Talwar Motors proprietor Saral Talwar of Rs 50 lakh through the fraudulent sale of his Bentley Brooklands car using forged documents.According to the complaint, four executives—Siddharth Chaturvedi, Damini Mehta (both directors), Akash Chaturvedi, and Sanjiv Sharma (CEO of the company's now-shut Hyderabad branch)—illegally sold the vehicle, which was registered in Haryana, to a third party without the owner's consent. Talwar said that the accused approached him in early 2023, expressing interest in buying the car. A deal was struck for a one-month test drive period, during which Talwar retained the original documents and secured post-dated cheques as collateral.However, the complainant alleged that the accused transported the car to Delhi without authorisation, forged registration and ownership documents, and sold it to an unknown buyer. "When I found out during a visit to Delhi and tried contacting them, they dodged my calls and later threatened me for pursuing legal action," Talwar said. "They used to have a showroom on Road Number 12 of Banjara Hills, but now it's shut," he added.Talwar approached a local court with a petition against the accused about a month ago and received directions for the registration of an FIR against them. Following a court directive, Banjara Hills police registered an FIR under sections 318(4), 319(2), 338, 336(3), 340(2), 316(2), and 351(2) r/w 3(5) of the BNS.
