3-year-old told teacher about sexual assault in toilet: Family
GURUGRAM: The three-year-old girl who was allegedly sexually assaulted inside the
During a conversation at home on Saturday evening, the girl allegedly told her parents that she shared details of the incident with some people in school, said the father adding that they recorded and then handed over the audio clip to police.
“Besides repeating what she earlier told us, she added that she had told her class teacher and the woman attendant that the accused, Komal had taken her to the boys’ toilet and caused her pain and made her cry. She had told some of her friends too,” said the father. He added that it was a glaring lapse on the part of the school that it did not report the incident to police, despite knowing about it. Inspector Mukesh Kumar, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Badshapur police station said that the audio clip had been taken on record and would be the part of their investigation.
He, however, added that it would not be admissible in court as evidence.
Kumar said that a notice had been served to the school under Section 91 of the Criminal Procedure Code, asking it to submit a report regarding adherence to various child safety guidelines issued by the district administration and under the Juvenile Justice Act. “In 2017, the district administration issued a set of guidelines for the safety of children in schools such as CCTV installation at strategic points and verification of support staff among others. We have issued a notice to the school authorities to show us the related records,” he said.
Meanwhile, police have also procured the CCTV footage of four-five days around the time of the alleged sexual assault to check the movements of the child and the accused. Komal, a housekeeping staff member, was arrested on Thursday after the girl’s parents approached police with the sexual assault complaint.
