Zuarinagar locals demand removal of mobile tower
VASCO: Residents of Vidyanagar at Zuarinagar have threatened to block the national highway on Saturday, if the mobile tower erected on the terrace of Greva building at Zuarinagar, is not removed by Friday. The 354 residents have said that the Sancoale village panchayat has to be blamed if any law and order situation arises.
Villagers have been fighting against the mobile tower and on January 29, the panchayat had passed a resolution to stop work on the tower.

“Today, not only the tower has been erected, but it is covered with some material to fool the villagers,” said president of Vidyanagar residents welfare association Edward Fernandes. Sarpanch of Sancoale panchayat Ramakant Borkar has been asked to demolish the tower and initiate action against the owner of the building. An inspection was conducted by the panchayat on Tuesday and the residents were given an assurance of taking suitable action.
