YouTuber harasses tourists at Morjim beach, booked

Mapusa: Mandrem police registered an FIR against a YouTuber, identified by the handle ‘@GudduVlogs7’, for allegedly harassing domestic and international tourists and outraging the modesty of women at Morjim beach.

In his complaint, PSI Sunil Patil stated that a video surfaced online showing the accused individual engaging in “improper behaviour” under the guise of content creation. He was alleged to have wrongfully restrained tourists, including foreign nationals, and intruded upon their privacy.


The complaint further stated that the YouTuber coerced female tourists into posing for photographs and videos against their will. “The accused was observed passing vulgar comments and recording videos in an improper manner,” a police officer said.

Police have booked the YouTuber under multiple sections of the BNS 2023, including Sections 126(2) (punishment for wrongful restraint), 79 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), and 353(1) (statements conducing to public mischief).

A police sweep also targeted public nuisance and the harassment of tourists. On Feb 14, police picked up three men from Ballari, Karnataka — Ashish K J,27, K Chetan, 26, and R Kumar, 35 — for allegedly misbehaving with locals and coercing foreign tourists into taking photographs. The trio has been placed under preventive arrest under Section 170 of the BNSS.
