Work of setting up tourism facilities at beaches started: Tourism Minister

“The work has already commenced in North Goa at Candolim, Calangute, Baga ,Anjuna and Ashwem,” said tourism minister Manohar ‘

Similarly the facilities will be provided in South Goa beaches under Swadesh Darshan II scheme at beaches of Benaulim, Colva, Cansaulim, Betalbhatim, Palolem, Khola et al, wherever the land is available of the department or made available by the panchayat.

The centre has sanctioned close to Rs 200 crore under the Swadesh Darshan scheme of the government. Goa tourism has been unable to expedite setting up of tourism linked facilities at beaches due to difficulties encountered in getting permission for erecting facilities in no development zone.
