Woman pillion rider killed after fall from bike

Ponda: Pushpa Naik, 60, a resident of Durgabhat, Ponda, died after her dupatta got entangled in the two-wheeler wheel while proceeding towards Ponda sub-district hospital.
Ponda police said that she was travelling with her husband Anand Naik to the hospital for a blood test on Thursday afternoon. When they reached Sadar area, Anand noticed that his wife has stopped talking to him and halted the bike.Realising that she was not seated behind, he turned back and after riding a short distance found his wife lying on the road with head injuries.
She succumbed while undergoing treatment at GMC, police said.
