Woman files case against son-in-law

MARGAO: Maina-Curtorim police Saturday filed a case of dowry harassment against one Ajit Ranjan resident of Dagwam in Maina-Curtorim jurisdiction.
The complainant one Sarojini Shetty is a resident of Udipi and the mother of Ashwini Ranjan who is married to the accused. Police said that Ajit Ranjan had filed a case that his wife was missing on May 12.But the gir's mother who rushed down from Udipi filed a complaint stating that her daughter was being harassed for dowry and held that to be the main reason for her daughter being missing.
Police said that the accused informed them that he was going to Udipi to find out if she had returned to or visited her native place. He also intended to get in touch with the local police.
