‘Will lodge complaint with PM’s office’

Bicholim: The Latambarcem gram sabha raised queries on Sunday about a road built by a Delhi party connecting to Ambadgaon in Maharashtra. The interstate road is being built illegally, claimed some villagers.

Sarpanch Rama Gaonkar told the media that the panchayat will not take things lightly and will find out who authorised it. After the gram sabha, the panchayat members inspected the road and found that it is fenced so that things remain unnoticed.

Gaonkar said several illegal constructions have come up in the village. “I have decided to lodge a complaint with the Prime Minister’s office directly,” said Gaonkar.

Gonkar demanded govt take this issue seriously and that the road may be used for transporting illegal goods.

A few days ago this issue was brought before the deputy collector, and after inquiry, the work was stopped only to be resumed a few days later.

The villagers have demanded the road be immediately closed to traffic.
