PANAJI: CM Pramod Sawant on Saturday said that based on work done by the BJP government and party organisation, the opposition has realised that BJP would win more than 22 seats in the assembly election scheduled on February 14.

Sawant appealed to the people to give BJP again the opportunity to serve the people of the state. “We are not here to rule but to serve the people of the state,” Sawant said.

BJP will release their manifesto after January 20.

Sawant said that as the opposition has realised that BJP will form the next government, they are talking about forming a grand alliance. “Forward and backward are coming together, but I am not bothered about them because I have faith in the people of the state from Pernem to Canacona. I urge the people to elect a government for development and stability,” he said.

Sawant said that even if they don’t like a candidate, they should still vote for the party. “Our government has not worked against anyone,” he said. The chief minister said that to make Goa self-reliant, the people should again elect a BJP government. Over the past 10 years, BJP has been governing and that 80% of the assurances in the manifesto have been completed, the CM said. He also said that PM Narendra Modi would inaugurate the Mopa airport on August 15.
