‘Water shortage caused by PWD, tanker operators'

Porvorim: Aldona MLA Carlos Alvares Ferreira on Monday alleged that a nexus between private water tanker operators and PWD engineers is responsible for creating artificial water shortages in various parts of Bardez taluka.

Ferreira speaking during the discussions on budget in the state assembly claimed that the irregular supply of water is a deliberate act to benefit private water tanker businesses, facilitated by PWD engineers. “There is irregular supply of water to Bardez areas, people phone us with their grievances. When we inquire with the PWD they give the excuse of pump breakdown and other reasons,” he said.
