(GMC), chief minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday refuted the allegation.

“When one gets frustrated, he stoops to any level and makes any kind of allegation. I can only pity him (Sardesai) for that. I have no knowledge of this matter, and I have also told the GMC dean to clear all the facts to the press. I am nowhere involved in this,” Sawant said.

Sardesai had on Tuesday alleged that Sawant had “pressurised” the acting dean of GMC to increase his nephew’s pathology subject marks in his MBBS exams, and had demanded an inquiry into the incident by a sitting judge of the high court.

Sawant said that while he had no problem with Sardesai making even personal allegations against him, “one shouldn’t do politics with students’ education”.

“This is for the first time I got to see how when one gets frustrated one can take politics to such a low leveI. I have forgiven him for his statements, and I request you, too, to forgive him and forget about it,” he told reporters on the sidelines of a programme.
