Margao: Human rights activist from Gujarat, Fr Cedric Prakash on Thursday called upon the people to resort to “civil disobedience” by refusing to divulge details if and when government authorities come to them demanding evidence of their Indian citizenship. “Tell them point blank, ‘Sorry, I don’t have to prove my citizenship’,” Prakash said while delivering a talk on CAA/NRC/NPR at Margao.
“The economy and GDP are in a shambles, unemployment is at the highest rate, the education system is a mess, medical care doesn’t reach the people, farmers are committing suicide. So this is a way to defocus,” Prakash said. TNN
