UP man dies at Bhoma after falling from first floor

Ponda: Mohammed Karim Khan, 45, a native of Uttar Pradesh, on Friday, fell from the first floor of a building at Bhoma in Ponda, where he was residing with his family.
Mardol police said he was sitting on the edge of the open terrace on the first floor. When he got up to go inside, his leg got stuck in a cable and he fell from the terrace.
He was immediately rushed to the Marcaim primary health centre, however, considering his critical status, he was referred to the Goa Medical College and Hospital at Bambolim. He succumbed to the injuries while undergoing treatment at the GMC.
The postmortem examination report has attributed the cause of his death to cerebral damage, chest trauma and spinal injury. His viscera has been preserved for further studies, police said.
Khan’s body was later handed over to his family. He is survived by his wife and six children.
A case of unnatural death has been registered at the Mardol police station under provisions of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.
