MARGAO: A tense situation prevailed in Cavrem late Thursday evening after clashes between truck drivers and villagers left at least two injured who had to be hospitalized.
Quepem police were in the process of registering a case until late night.
Quepem PI Sudesh Narvekar informed that the group clashes were a fallout of Wednesday's incident wherein villagers had forcibly prevented the trucks from moving ahead as they had violated the timing regulations.

A verbal duel broke out between truck drivers and the locals on Thursday morning that led to a truck driver being allegedly assaulted by a villager.
He was admitted to the primary health centre for treatment of simple injuries, police said. Later in the evening, in retaliation, a group of truck drivers assaulted a few villagers leading to the hospitalization of a Cavrem resident.
