Two held in Panaji car theft case
Panaji: Panaji police on Tuesday arrested Hyder Khan, 30, and Nizamuddin Isac Jalegar, 24, both from Bethoda, Ponda, in a car theft case and recovered electronic and utility items worth Rs 7 lakh.
DySP Sudesh Naik said that Sridhar Reddy Puli, a resident of Telangana, had filed a complaint that unidentified accused broke the quarter glass of his car which was parked in an open parking near the Panaji church square.
After analysing CCTV footage available in the area, Panaji police managed to obtain the registration number of a suspected vehicle which lead to the apprehension and arrest of accused persons.
Among the stolen items include two laptops, hair dryers, shoes and cash of Rs 2 lakh.
