Two held for murder, assault at Cortalim

Vasco: Verna police arrested Santosh Mallick, 32, and Pradhan Mandal, 35, natives of Odisha, for allegedly killing Anil Muthamajhi, 20, a labourer working at St Anthony’s poultry farm at Zambol, Cortalim, on Friday.
The duo allegedly killed Mandal at 12.30pm on Thursday with a knife on the pretext of asking for free chicken. They also assaulted Jihusaya Mandal, 39 who is now undergoing treatment at GMC.
Verna police said, “The accused had a previous enmity with Mandal and trespassed onto the farm to kill him.” The accused confessed to their involvement in the crime, police said. ">Police have registered an offence under Sec 103 (1), 109 read with 3 (5) of BNS.
