French film, ‘It’s Only The End of the World’, winner of the Grand Prix and the Ecumenical Jury Prize, directed by Xavier Dolan. is about Louis, a writer who returns home with unpleasant news to his family. Romanian film, ‘Graduation’, directed by Cristian Mungiu, will also be a part of the masterstrokes category at the festival. Iranian-French film, ‘The Salesman’, winner of the best actor and best screenplay award, directed and scripted by Asghar Farhadi tells the story of a couple who play lead roles in the local version of Arthur Miller’s ‘Death of a Salesman’.

Filipino film, ‘Ma’Rosa’, winner of the best actress award, directed by Brilliante Mendoza, revolves around the life of Rosa and portrayed by Jacklyn Jose will also feature in the masterstrokes category.

British-American film, ‘American Honey’, winner of the Prix du Jury (jury prize) and directed by Andrea Arnold that tells the story of a teenage girl, who joins a travelling magazine sales crew, will be screened in the Cinema of the World category. Finnish film directed by Juho Kuosmanen, ‘The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Maki’, is a real life story about a famous Finnish boxer Olli Maki, who was in contention for the 1962 World Featherweight title and will also be screened in the same category.

French film, ‘The Stopover’, winner of the Un Certain Regard for best screenplay award, directed by sisters, Delphine and Muriel Coulin, will also be screened in the cinema of the world category. Afghani film, ‘Wolf and Sheep’, winner of the art cinema award directed by Shahrbanoo Sadatwill be part of the centenary award: Best debut feature category at IFFI. ‘The Neon Demon’, a psychological thriller from Denmark, directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, was winner of the Cannes Soundtrack Award.

Russian film Student, winner of the Francois Chalais Award, directed by Kirill Serenbrennikov, based on a high school student who believes the world has been lost to evil will feature in the International Competition section at the film festival.

Lebanese film, ‘Tramontane’, winner of the Grand Golden Rail Award, directed by Vatche Boulghorijan, will be a part of the centenary award: best debut feature category at the festival.
