Tourist held for harassing foreigner at Colva beach

Colva: In a swift action, the coastal security police arrested a 19-year-old tourist, Rohit Sanjay Pawar, from Maharashtra for allegedly taking photographs and recording videos of a foreign national without her consent at Colva beach on Sunday.

According to the police complaint, the incident came to light during a routine patrol. The police personnel on duty, Namdev Mandrekar and Kalpesh Mulgaonkar, observed Pawar behaving suspiciously while closely following a foreign woman along the shoreline. Upon closer inspection, they noticed that he was discreetly using his mobile phone to click photographs and record videos of the woman, allegedly causing her discomfort and distress.


Pawar was booked for offences involving harassment and invasion of privacy. He was arrested following the registration of a case.
