Three arrested for assaulting woman

Mapusa: Mapusa police personnel arrested three persons for assaulting a female member of the Halarnkar family over a property dispute.

Anjuna police station incharge, PI Paresh Naik, said that the incident took place on Friday afternoon.

Naik said that three members of Gaikwad family started hitting the victim with stones and then assaulted her with wooden sticks. She was rushed to the Mapusa district hospital.

Naik said the clash was sparked by a property dispute and that the land belongs to the comunidade. "Neither of the disputing parties own the land," he said. tnn
