Taxi catches fire at Karmali railway station
Panaji: An unoccupied seven-seater taxi caught fire at the Karmali railway station on Friday afternoon. Fire personnel from the Old Goa police station brought the fire under control and are investigating the cause of the incident.
This is the second car to catch fire in two days. The fire duty crew responded to the 2:53pm call at the station and put out the fire by 3:30pm. The fire destroyed the engine bay and the interiors of the car.
“The owner of the taxi, Shiva Bhomkar, parked the car next to the railway station and went in to see if he could find customers. While he was inside the station, the owner claims, the car caught fire,” said a firefighter.
