TAG to organize second tiatr festival for children

PANAJI: The Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG) has formulated a scheme to promote tiatr culture among the children whose age does not exceed 19 years. The purpose of the scheme is to involve children and youth in the production and staging of tiatrs. With this aim in mind, TAG will organize its second children's tiatr festival December.
Educational institutions/sports and cultural associations/individual producers can participate in the festival.TAG will give financial support of Rs 20,000 to produce the tiatr. This amount is to be used for meeting the expenditure of musical band, light effects, stage setting, background music, makeup, costumes, refreshments for rehearsals, transport, etc.
Only eight tiatrs will be permitted to participate in the festival. If there are more than eight applications, then the tiatrs will be selected by lots. Tiatrs having relevance to the lives of children will be preferred. Prizes for best performance, acting, direction, stage setting, light effects, live band, background music, makeup, costumes, singing, lyrics of songs and scripts of tiatr will be awarded. Those interested should submit applications on or before October 17. Rules and regulations along with the prescribed application form are available at the TAG office, Campal Trade Centre, Panaji.
