PANAJI: Suspended South Goa district collector G P Naik called on chief secretary
Sanjay Srivastava at the secretariat on Tuesday and submitted a representation urging the government to revoke his suspension.
Naik who retired on Tuesday (May 31) on superannuation after nearly four decades of service, was suspended by the state government as per a demand made by tribal leaders for ordering a lathi charge on the agitators at Balli at Quepem on May 25.
He explained to the chief secretary in detail the situation prevailing at the time at Balli when the agitators resorted to rail and rasta roko and that he had no other option but to order lathicharge.
