Smart City meeting at Ribandar today

Panaji: The Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited will hold a consultation meet on Monday with stakeholders and locals at

Ribandar

to discuss the setting up of a market complex and community centre in the area.

Feedback will be taken from locals on the market complex and community centre proposals. Various projects are being taken up through Smart City, including footpaths, underground cabling and a pedestrian bridge connecting the residential area to the market and fishermen’s jetty complete with storage and drying area for the fishermen.

“Ribandar has a population of about 4,000, but has been neglected despite its proximity to Panaji. Residents cannot depend on Panaji for everything. It needs its own market complex. At present, vegetable and fish vendors sit by the roadside with no toilet facilities for them. A community hall will also help residents,” said Smart City director Sidharth Kunkalienker.
