Shripad files plaint against cyber imposter

Panaji: Union minister for ports, shipping, and waterways, and North Goa MP, Shripad Naik, filed a police complaint after an unidentified person was found impersonating him on social media.

“It has come to our attention that a fake WhatsApp account is circulating, impersonating me and contacting people with unauthorised requests. Please be advised that any such messages are not from me. We have already filed a complaint with the police, and strict action will be taken against the individual responsible. Stay alert, and if you receive such messages, please disregard them and report any suspicious activity,” Naik said on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday.
