Sex racket busted at Colva beach

MARGAO: Colva police late on Tuesday night arrested 27-year-old Imran Ahmed, a resident of Ponda and native of Shimoga, Karnataka, for operating a prostitution racket in the state .
Ahmed was caught red-handed as he arrived at Colva beach with a 25-year-old woman whom he had allegedly procured and trafficked for the purposed of forcing her into prostitution.
Police sources informed that the woman, who is a Bangladeshi national, was rescued and remanded to the Protective home for women at Merces.
The accused was booked under Section 377 (A) (2) of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 4,5,6 and 7 of the Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act.
Colva police said that further investigations are under way.
