Revision of electoral rolls open till Dec 9
Panaji: Citizens and new voters can include their names in the electoral rolls during the ongoing special summary revision that will end on December 9.
The chief electoral officer (CEO) and both district election officers have appealed to new voters to register during the Special Summary Revision.
The Election Commission of India had announced a Special Summary Revision of the electoral roll with respect to January 1, 2024, as the qualifying date. The period of filing claims and objections began on October 27 and will end on December 9.
Meanwhile, assistant collector, revenue, on Friday, appealed to the electorate, especially (persons with disabilities) PwDs, to get involved in the election process.
She said that PwDs can influence decisions and policy makers and hence they should cast their vote.
She was speaking at the systematic voters education and electoral participation awareness rally organised by Tiswadi mamlatdar in association with institutions working for PwDs to commemorate International Day of Persons with Disabilities at Azad Maidan.
