Restricted water supply to S Goa on Oct 13 & 14

Margao: Residents across most parts of South Goa will face restricted water supply on Oct 13 and 14 due to scheduled maintenance work on major water pipelines of the Selaulim water treatment plant.

The water supply shutdown will be undertaken on Oct 13 from 9am to 5pm to carry out repairs and maintenance of the 1,400mm diameter mild steel (MS) pipeline and a 1,200mm diameter pre-stressed concrete (PSC) pipeline connected to the 160 million litres per day (MLD) water treatment plant at Selaulim. The 100MLD treatment plant will, however, continue to function as usual during this period.

Water supply will be restricted on Oct 13 and 14 across the constituencies of Sanguem, Curchorem, Quepem, Sanvordem, Curtorim, Cuncolim, Velim, Benaulim, Margao, Fatorda, Navelim, Nuvem, Cortalim, Dabolim, Vasco, and Mormugao.

“Supply will normalise gradually after the completion of maintenance work,” a PWD official said.
