MARGAO: A judicial magistrate first class court at Margao remanded Purshotam Keni, owner of a Udupi restaurant at IDC, Cuncolim, in police custody for two days.
He was arrested by Cuncolim police for allegedly raping a woman from Canacona.
Police registered an offence of rape under Section 376 IPC against the accused on a complaint from the victim, who is a widow.

In her complaint to police, she stated that the accused induced her and took her to his restaurant between December 23, 2013, and March 31, 2014, and had forcible sexual intercourse with her several times.
The accused was absconding after the offence was registered against him. PSI Tukaram V Chavan is conducting investigation in the case.
