: A day after TOI reported that
Rajendra Talak had resigned from his post as vice chairman of the
Entertainment Society of Goa
(ESG), he issued a statement on his departure from the position. "I shall always remember the 3 wonderful & constructive years which I believe we have served to the best of our capacity at ESG," he stated.
In his statement, Talak thanked the previous chief ministers (CM) of Goa and the current CM under whom he had served. "I thank ex CM,
Laxmikant Parsekar,
late Manohar Parrikar
and honourable CM Pramod Sawant for believing in me and my team." he said.
Sources from the chief minister’s office had told TOI of the resignation on Monday. The reasons for his stepping down from the prestigious position remains unknown. When TOI contacted the filmmaker, he neither confirmed nor denied his resignation. “I do not wish to comment on this matter,” he had said.
National award winner Rajendra Talak took over as vice-chairman of the Entertainment Society of Goa in October 2016. He had taken over the post after former BJP MLA Damodar Naik resigned from the post on October 4, to devote his attention to the 2017 state assembly elections.
Talak was an executive committee member of ESG for the four years prior to taking over the organization as vice-chairman.
