‘PWD should inspect Hospicio again’

Dr Venkatesh Hegde

on Friday urged health minister Vishwajit Rane and town and country planning (TCP) minister Vijai Sardesai to direct the public works department (

PWD

) to inspect the hospital building again and present a report of the status.

He also requested Sardesai’s intervention to sort out the issue of the 35 dialysis patients, undergoing treatment at Hospicio under Dr Venkatesh Reddy, who runs Hospicio’s dialysis centre, as they are hesitant to visit other private hospitals.

The visiting committee is tasked with paying a visit to the hospital at least once a month to understand problems faced by patients.

Referring to the June 22 Hospicio fire Dr Hegde said, “There is still a problem with the electrical connections at the dialysis unit. During his visit, the health minister was gheraoed by some patients regarding the immediate recommencement of dialysis treatment. Rane suggested that they visit other hospitals offering free dialysis treatment.”
