Prakash, Michel to coach at AIFF–FIFA talent academy
Panaji: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has selected Prakash Khatri and Michel Castanha for key roles at the AIFF-FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS).
Prakash, the face of Compassion FC since their inception, has been appointed as assistant coach, boys Team under the FIFA Talent Development Programme. A highly respected youth and women’s football coach, Prakash brings over five years of experience working with elite youth, women’s and men’s teams. He is currently pursuing his AFC ‘A’ licence and holds multiple national and international coaching certifications.
Joining him in the national set-up is Michel Castanha, one of Goa’s most accomplished footballers, who has been appointed as the girl team coach under the same programme.
Michel is a former international and has represented Goa across multiple age groups and at senior level, becoming one of the most recognisable faces of women’s football in the state.
Recently, she successfully completed her AFC ‘B’ licence coaching course, marking her transition from elite player to professional coach. She was previously associated with the Goa Football Development Council (GFDC).
Earlier, Salgaocar FC had confirmed that their player Daison Colaco has been selected for the AIFF–FIFA Telangana Talent Academy, making him the only player from Goa chosen for the elite national program.
Daison joins 150 outstanding young footballers at the academy in Hyderabad, where he will receive world-class training, education, and holistic support to further develop his skills and realise his full potential.
