Porvorim man held with drugs worth Rs 2.5L

Panaji: A 20-year-old Porvorim resident, Nihal Maliksab Panwale, was arrested by Goa police crime branch for alleged possession of narcotics worth Rs 2.5 lakh.

SP crime Rahul Gupta said the crime branch raided on Thursday near the Kadamba building in Porvorim and caught Panwale red-handed.

“Panwale was caught with a transparent polythene packet containing 15.6g of suspected MDMA worth Rs 2.5 lakh in the international market, a scooter, Rs 1,200 in cash, and a mobile phone,” Gupta said.

Gupta said that these items are included under the search panchanama.
