Ponda traders ask municipality to ban street sellers

Around 100 vendors operating from the Ponda market, under the banner of Aamchi Vyapari Sanghatana, took out a morcha to the Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) demanding not to allow outside vendors to operate business during the festive season. They met Ponda MLA and agriculture minister Ravi Naik and PMC chairperson Ritesh Naik at the council premises.

PONDA: Around 100 vendors operating from the Ponda market, under the banner of Aamchi Vyapari Sanghatana, took out a morcha to the Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) demanding not to allow outside vendors to operate business during the festive season. Stating that during festive seasons, several street vendors make business along the market road, the vendors said that they are already facing slack in business and if the street vendors are allowed, customers cannot reach the shops inside the market.
PMC chairperson has assured them that he would find an amicable solution to the issue.
