Ponda:Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) on Monday sealed 20 shops in theBudhwar Peth market complex that had defaulted in paying rent for years. Chief officer Yogiraj Gosavi said if the defaulters do not clear the arrears by this month, the shops would be rented out to other people. “Located in front of the complex, the shops are in high demand. We will easily get bidders,” Gosavi told

After discovering that several shopkeepers in the complex had not paid rent for the past several years, PMC, at a meeting in Oct, had issued notice to 26 defaulters to clear their dues. However, only six complied.
