Intikhab Alam Shaikh, who was arrested by Calangute police on Thursday for being in illegal possession of narcotics, was on Friday remanded to seven days police custody by the JMFC, Mapusa.

CALANGUTE: Intikhab Alam Shaikh, who was arrested by Calangute police on Thursday for being in illegal possession of narcotics, was on Friday remanded to seven days police custody by the JMFC, Mapusa.
Early on Thursday morning, Calangute police had arrested Shaikh after he was found with LSD near the Candolim football ground.
The police had laid a trap after receiving a tip-off that Shaikh would be arriving there to deliver the drug to a customer.

He was found in possession of LSD papers worth 38,000. The accused is a native of Byculla, Mumbai.
Police have registered an offence under Section 22 (C) of the NDPS Act 1985, and are conducting further investigation.
