Police file closure reports in FIRs against UP judge, Anjuna restaurant
Panaji: Goa police have filed closure reports in connection with FIRs against a lady civil judge (senior division) in Uttar Pradesh, Deepanshi Chaudhary, and restaurant staff at Anjuna, after both sides settled the dispute arising from a parking issue.
“We have filed closure reports in the cases against Chaudhary after both parties settled the case between them,” Anjuna PI Suraj Gawas said, adding that the judge and the restaurant staff contacted each other and resolved the matter.
Anjuna police had registered FIRs against Deepanshi Chaudhary and her husband, Nitin Lal, as well as against restaurant staff, including Amit Mishra and security personnel.
The incident occurred on Sept 2025, when the couple visited a restaurant around 6.30pm and argued with staff over parking. Police reached the spot after receiving a call from the restaurant and brought the couple to the police station for inquiry.
Gawas had said Lal claimed he was an additional sessions judge but failed to produce an identity card. He added that Chaudhary produced her ID but did not allow police to take a photocopy or photograph.
Based on Chaudhary’s complaint, an FIR was registered against the staff for allegedly abusing the couple. Police had said the staff pushed them, attempted to outrage her modesty, and threatened them before forcing them out over the parking issue.
The entire incident was captured on the restaurant’s CCTV cameras. Gawas had said the judge refused to undergo a medical examination during the investigation.
