KERI:The three-member dam safety panel constituted by the Goa government visited the Anjunem and Selaulim dams to carry out routine inspection.
The three members included Aok, Shimpi and Ranade of the dam safety panel, who along with the officials of the water resource department, visited the Anjunem dam at Keri, Sattari, and the Selaulim dam at Sanguem, recently.
These members carried out a routine inspection and gave directives to the officials concerned on maintaining safety and security.
The Anjunem dam provides drinking water and irrigation facilities to some areas in Bicholim, Bardez and Sattari, whereas the Selaulim dam caters to most areas in South Goa.

Since 1987, the dam safety panel has been conducting such inspections and holding meetings to brief the officials concerned about taking up work of maintenance.
