Over 15,000 apply online for college admissions in Goa
Panaji: Over 15,000 students in the state have applied online for admissions through the centralised portal of the directorate of higher education (DHE) for degree programmes, official Mahadev Gawas said. He added that the deadline to receive applications has been extended up to April 13 for the academic year 2026–27 for all undergraduate programmes under its administrative purview.
“The extension has been granted to provide additional time and opportunity for students who were unable to complete their applications within the earlier timeline. Importantly, students whose qualifying examination results are still awaited are also eligible to apply online within the stipulated deadline,” Gawas said. The applications are received through the Samarth e-governance portal.
The admission process is to first year general stream degree programmes across 34 colleges in Goa, offering around 20 programmes. Officials said that the students should take note that the entire process of admissions will be carried out online only through a centralised digital platform.
Admissions will be conducted entirely through the online portal, eliminating the need for physical visits, said Gawas. He said that there will be no application fee and the process is completely free of cost, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for all students.
Detailed information regarding courses, eligibility criteria, intake capacity, and admission guidelines will be available through the e-prospectus hosted on respective college websites, he said.
Students will be allowed to select up to five preferences, choosing different programmes across different colleges based on their interest and eligibility.
Students have to visit the official DHE, website dhe.goa.gov.in/resource/admissiondata/. to access the online application portal and detailed guidelines for filling the application form.
