Indian Panorama section
of the 47th
International Film Festival of India

Iffi
), 2016, beginning November 20.
Sanskrit film, ‘Ishti’, directed by G Prabha, will be the opening feature film of the Indian Panorama section, while Manipuri film ‘Ima Sabitri’, directed by Bobo KH, will open the non-feature category.
Telugu film ‘Baahubali’, directed by S S Rajamouli, which won the best feature film at the 63rd national film awards 2015, and Gujarati film ‘Amdavad Ma Famous’, directed by Hardik Mehta, that won the best non-feature film award, will also be screened at the festival.
A total of 22 feature films have been selected by a 13-member jury panel headed by director and producer Rajendra Singh Babu, over a period of one month.
The feature films include four films each in Hindi, Marathi and Bengali, three each in Malayalam and Kannada and one each in English, Manipuri, Assamese, Khasi, Tamil, Telugu, Sanskrit and Konkani.
A seven-member jury headed by well-known documentary filmmaker Arvind Sinha selected 21 films out of the 198 eligible entries in the non-feature film category.
The jury which included documentary filmmakers Aarti Srivastava, Abhijit Mazumdar and Ronel Haobam, film writer and director Madhureeta Anand and film critic and documentary filmmaker Suresh Sharma took 15 days to narrow down on the films.
Five English films, three films each in Marathi and Malayalam, two each in Bengali, Hindi and Haryanvi, and one each in Gujarathi, Manipuri and Karbi will be screened in the non-feature film category at Iffi 2016.
