Online portal for admission to colleges to open from June 1
Panaji: After the Class XII results of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education were declared on Saturday, the directorate of higher education (DHE) said that the admission process for degree programmes will begin from June 1. It will be held in the online mode as has been the norm for the last two years.
“All students who wish to apply for any courses which are offered in the aided and government colleges under DHE will have to apply in the online mode,” DHE nodal officer for admissions, Mahadev Gawas, said. The online platform will accept applications till June 20 in the first phase of admission. Students will be able to opt for upto three colleges of their choice.
“Since this is a common platform to apply for the programmes under DHE, the student need not approach individual colleges for prospectus. They can directly apply from this link through the DHE website,” said Gawas.
When applying online the students need to upload documents such as Class X and Class XII marksheets and valid certificates for those applying under various reserved categories such as SC, ST, OBC or economically weaker sections.
“Since only Goa Board results are out and other Board results are yet to be declared, even those students whose results are not yet declared will be able to submit their application. But their application will be subject to them uploading the valid documents once their results are out,” said Gawas.
Students will not be charged any application fees, he said.
