Now, water sports to have uniform rates
Panaji: Tourism department notified a unified fee structure that all water sports operators will have to follow across the state. The move aims to bring prices on par, eliminate undercutting by some operators.
Some of the rates under the new notification are as follows: a dolphin ride will now between Rs 350 and Rs 800 per passenger, depending on the number of passengers, ride distance, and duration. A standard boat ride is priced at Rs 1,000 per passenger for a one-hour trip, with a minimum of six passengers required.
Fly board rides will cost Rs 2,500 per passenger, with or without an instructor, for a maximum duration of ten minutes. Scuba diving is priced at Rs 1,000 per person.
A banana ride will cost Rs 1,000 per ride for five passengers covering a distance of 200 metres, while a luxury boat ride (winch parasailing boat ride) is fixed at Rs 6,000 per trip for a maximum of 12 passengers for 30 minutes. Additionally, a package combining jet ski, banana, or bump rides (minimum of three rides) will be charged at Rs 1,100 per passenger.
Parasailing from the beach is available at Rs 1,200 per trip for a single passenger, with a maximum duration of two minutes.
A jetski ride with an instructor is available at Rs 2,500 per ride for one passenger, with a duration of ten minutes.
Band wagon ride is offered at Rs 2,000 per ride for a minimum of four passengers, each ride covering 500 metres. Eagle ride is available at Rs 1,500 for a maximum of three passengers, each ride covering 500 metres.
