Panaji: Abhishek Saha, senior scientist at the geological oceanography division, National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Goa, has been selected as a member (2022-2026) of the Indian National Young Academy of Sciences (

INYAS

), which is the only recognised young scientist academy of India founded by the INSA council.

Saha has been selected to the INYAS for his outstanding track record as a successful scientist and commitment to applying science for the benefit of society. He has over 45 publications in national and international journals which can be viewed on https://www.nio.org/profile/1311/dr-abhishek-saha

INYAS has been very active specifically to pursue promotion of science amongst the various strata of the society through science camps, remote area lectures, conferences and other forms of outreach. It is a platform that enables young scientists to interact and work towards spreading the enthusiasm about science among school children, college students and the general public.

Recognised as the voice of young scientists by the Global Young Academy, and actively participating in various international events that invite participation by young scientists, INYAS hopes to work towards building a generation of Indians who practice science as a way of life.
