NIO and Mumbai institute to study ocean

Panaji: National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Goa, and Thakur College of Science and Commerce, Mumbai, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for collaborative research with a special focus on ocean sciences.

The two institutes will jointly pursue development and innovation activities, leading to joint projects and research and development contracts through complementary efforts in all areas of activity of both the institutions. The MoU was signed by NIO director, Sunil Kumar Singh, and secretary of Thakur Educational Trust Jitendra R Singh, in the presence of NIO Goa’s senior scientists, Dr Manguesh Gauns, Dr Narsinh Thakur, Dr Mandar Nanajkar and Venkat Krishnamurthy besides Devesh Mishra, Dr SK Singh, Dr V Mohite of and other officials from Thakur College.
