KERI: Mhadei Water Dispute Tribunal, has fixed August 21 as the date for next hearing on the Mhadei Water issue.
The issue of Mhadei water came in for discussion on Tuesday where in counsel for Karnataka, once again give assurance to tribunal that he will ask Karnataka to stop ongoing work of Kalasa canal excavation and construction.
A tribunal directed Goa and Maharashtra government to file their reply by April 30, and a rejoinder in the matter by May15.

Government of Karnataka has already presented before tribunal that diversion of Kalasa-Bhandura is essential for providing drinking water to Hubli, Dharwad, and 10 other cities and diversion work is undertaken in unforested areas in Kankumbi. Srikant Patil, the Superintendent Engineer of WRD told that, "During next hearing on August 21 we are hopeful that justice will be given to Goa in the Mhadei matter."
