Need probe into death of Delhi man: Alemao
Panaji: Leader of the opposition Yuri Alemao on Monday called for a thorough probe into the death of a Delhi resident who allegedly fell ill at the Sunburn electronic dance and music (EDM) festival at Dhargalim.
Karan Kashyap, 26, lost consciousness during the event and later died at a private medical facility at Mapusa.
“It’s a severe issue and there is a need for an inquiry into this by govt. Govt should not be hand-in-glove with certain blue-eyed boys...agencies of govt. We raised this issue in the assembly, and our concerns are becoming reality.” Alemao said.
“What caused this death? What did the boy consume, and was it legal or illegal? These questions must be investigated. Goa is getting a bad name, and this is not Goan culture,” he said.
Alemao alleged that govt supports and promotes festivals that damage Goa’s reputation as a tourist destination.
He urged govt to conduct a detailed investigation into Kashyap’s death and enforce strict criminal charges against those responsible.
