‘Nearly 2,500 postal ballots were rejected’

Shadow Council for Margao

on Tuesday demanded an inquiry into the cause that led to the rejection/invalidation of nearly 2,500 votes cast by

postal ballots

and absentee ballots. An official complaint has been filed in the office of the chief electoral officer in this regard.

of the Shadow Council said that due to “serious lapses” on the part of polling officials, valid votes cast by thousands of voters have not been accounted for.
