National Honeybee Day celebrated in Goa

PANAJI: In a bid to create awareness on beekeeping, Goa-based ICAR- CCARI recently celebrated National Honeybee Day. The event brought together individual beekeepers and beekeeping associations for interactive session to discuss their experiences with fresh beekeepers.
The director, ICAR-CCARI, Dr EB Chakurkar stressed the role of the institute and cooperatives in spreading the art of beekeeping.
Naadakumar Raikar of the beekeepers cooperative society, Ankola, Karnataka, Shalio, a beekeeping expert from Goa and Rudolf Fernandes of farmers and beekeepers association of Goa were felicitated for their support in taking the technology of beekeeping to local farmers.
