Bhatlem resident Jackson Dadel was working as a front office manager at a hotel in Digha town by changing his identity including name and date of birth.

He had changed his name to Rajeev Kashap and he adopted September 16 as his birth date which was the date of his escape.

The Goa Police team arrested him in West Bengal and handed over to Margao Police for investigation in an alleged jailbreaking case.

Police said that during the intelligence gathering in jail, police learned that the accused in the 2005 murder case was settled in West Bengal.

Crime branch superintendent of police (SP) Nidhin Valsan said, “Dadel and Rudolph Gomes were convicted by the additional sessions court in Panaji in 2007 for murdering Godwin DSilva, a resident of Caranzalem on April 23, 2005."
