Murder case filed against mother, daughter

MARGAO: Maina-Curtorim police on Saturday filed a case of murder against Antoneta Rebello and her mother Monica Rebello holding them responsible for the death of John D'Silva, who succumbed to burn injuries on Friday at Goa Medical College, Bambolim.
Both the women are absconding and Antoneta is believed to be D'Silva's girlfriend. D'Silva, a resident of Colva, had gone to spend the night at the home of the Rebellos' at Sao Jose de Areal on April 17.However, at 3 am in the morning, boiling water was poured on D'Silva allegedly by the two women. Neighbours, who heard his cries rushed him to Hospicio hospital, from where he was shifted to the GMC with serious burn injuries.
